During her adolescent years, Dr. Dori Fortunato developed an interest in complementary health approaches after watching family members suffer from chronic illnesses. With an unwavering dedication to understanding the body’s ability to heal, she earned her doctorate in Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine from the Pacific College of Health and Sciences, San Diego.
Growing up with a father who had multiple health concerns, including Multiple Sclerosis, and an older sister with Juvenile Idiopathic Arthritis, her interest in auto-immune diseases and recalcitrant illness is directly related to her personal experience. She identifies with the sacrifices, suffering, and pain that illness can cause both for those suffering and their loved ones.
Beyond her formal education, Dr. Dori has studied and trained in many areas of health and well-being since a young age. She has had the honor of working with a diverse group of mentors who have influenced her perspective on patient care. Additionally, Dr. Dori has spent significant time traveling and studying different culture-based medicines, contributing to her unique style of practice and rich understanding of healing.
Within her practice, Dr. Dori works individually with each patient to design a comprehensive strategy that is both practical and actionable. Each treatment plan addresses personal concerns using in-depth assessment to identify top priorities leading to the most effective healing path. Her patients value Dr. Dori for her dedication, compassion, extensive knowledge, and intuition.
When she is not busy researching and studying, Dr. Dori spends her free time outside, exercising, practicing Qi Gong, writing, traveling, reading, cooking, playing golf or tennis, volunteering, and celebrating life with family and friends.
